Wells-next-the-SeaWells is famous for its working harbour and iconic beach huts, but the area has even more to offer. There are sophisticated prizewinning restaurants serving fresh local produce, great pubs selling award-winning Norfolk real ales, things to entertain the kids and country estates like Holkham and Sandringham nearby. It's a fantastic British holiday destination. If you have been to Wells before you will know you can relax, bustle about or in between those two. If you have never been to Wells here are a few ideas to contemplate whilst on your holiday. The first one is easy - you can just relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery, watch the sunset, enjoy a lovely meal in the numerous restaurants, public houses, hotels, take-away or cook for yourselves with fresh local produce. Gentle coastal drive and have lunch, shops in Wells something for everyone. If you are feeling a bit more energetic there are some wonderful walks along the coast, through the pine forest, you could even get on your cycle and the world is your oyster (well North Norfolk anyway) if you do not have a cycle you could always hire one locally. If you're bringing your dog (Harbour Walk allows pets by special arrangement) we're sure it will love to explore the area with you too! There is plenty for the children and probably the dads crab fishing on the harbour, fun on the beautiful beaches, sand castles, flying your kite or even burying dad in the sand!!! Have a short trip on the summer train down to the beach, visit the seals at Blakeney (short boat trip), plenty of interesting coastal villages to visit and The Real Ale Shop on the B1105 from Wells to Fakenham. Carnival week is usually the first Saturday in August and it's a whole week of activity including music in the evenings. For all you shopaholics if you have not found enough shops here and the surrounding areas then its Norwich city for you ladies shop till you drop! Gentlemen take in the historic beauty of the city (Norwich 40 mins away). Just Wells Holidays operates exclusively from Main Sail Yard, which is 3 minutes walk to Wells-next-the-Sea town centre. A truly delightful setting in a wonderful location on the North Norfolk Coast. |
